IPOH: Non-stop rain since last Thursday has triggered floods in the Perak districts of Larut, Matang, Selama and Manjung, which have forced 211 people from 70 families from their homes.
Perak’s Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said the evacuees are being housed at six relief centres in the affected districts.
Larut, Matang and Selama recorded 172 evacuees, 78 of whom are at the Kampung Matang Gelugor community hall, 33 at the Kampung Jebong Simpang Halt community hall, 32 at the Simpang Halt community hall, and 29 at the Kampung Jawa Trong surau.
Manjung recorded 39 evacuees, 14 of whom are at the Kampung Paya Ara community hall in Beruas, and 25 at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Kota. -- Bernama
