Teen faints while out job-hunting, regain consciousness before passing away

JEMPOL: An 18-year-old teenager died in a business centre here in Bahau while she was looking for employment this afternoon.

Jempol district police chief superintendent Muhd Nur Hishamuddin Hashim said the victim, identified as Amiratul Hakimah Ismail, from Kampung Kasau near Batu Kikir here, was job-hunting with a friend at 12.30pm.

The victim’s parents had dropped off the girl and her friend at the centre before leaving for a nearby wholesale market to shop for some items.

"The victim had told her friend that she was not feeling well and felt like fainting. She collapsed suddenly.

"The victim managed to regain consciousness and was assisted by her friend to sit on a nearby bench before she said she felt like vomiting.

"As she took a seat, the victim experienced difficulties in breathing and fell unconscious once again," he said.

Muhd Nur Hishamuddin said passers-by immediately called the ambulance and medical officers who arrived at the scene confirmed the victim had died.

He said the teen’s body has been sent to the Jempol Hospital for a post-mortem and the case is classified as sudden death.
