Kedah CPO Asri to be promoted, transferred as director in Bukit Aman

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal police Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (ISCD) will receive a new director on Feb 12.

In a statement, federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman announced that current Kedah police chief Datuk Asri Yusoff would be the next ISCD director, replacing Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Hanafi.

ISCD would also receive a new deputy director (standard compliance), Datuk Hashim Abd Jalil, who will be promoted to the rank of deputy commissioner (DCP).

Federal police Crime Prevention and Community Department deputy director (operations) Datuk Zainal Abidin Kasim will replace Asri as Kedah police chief, with the rank of commissioner.

His place would be taken over by Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC) Hashim Ali, who will be promoted to DCP.

Federal police Special Action Unit (UTK) commander Datuk Mastor Mohd Ariff would be the Federal police Internal Security and Public Order Department (General Operations Force) deputy director with the rank of DCP.

Former special police escort to former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Mazli Mazlan will replace Mastor.

Meanwhile, ACP Mohd Shaharudin Baharom would be the Management Department secretariat/pensioners affairs assistant director, and promoted to SAC.

Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat has been transfered as ISCD (counselling and religion) principal assistant director, and promoted to the rank of SAC.

Sepang deputy police chief Superintendent Baharudin Mat Taib will replace Shafien in Shah Alam and promoted to ACP.

ACP Zulkafli Sariaat has been marine police (general policing/strategic/investigation) deputy commander, while Special Task Force on Organised Crime (Stafoc), Special Tactical Squad 1 deputy director ACP Denis Leong Soon Kuai has been appointed Sarawak police Criminal Investigation Department (Investigation/Legal) deputy chief.

Batu Gajah police will welcome a new chief, Superintendent Ahmad Tarmizi Shaari, who will be promoted to the rank of ACP.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Norzaid Muhammad Said has been appointed as marine police east region commander, and also promoted to ACP.

The General Operations Force will have a new principal assistant director, Superintendent Saini Bongkek, who will hold the rank of ACP, while Superintendent Wan Khairuddin Wan Idris has been appointed Kelantan CID chief.
