KOTA KINABALU: A hotel here recently delivered 113 presents to children at Desa Asrama Pukak, near here, last Saturday.
The annual campaign, known as Christmas Wish Project, was organised by Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu in collaboration with Good Shepherd Services to enable the public to fulfil the children’s wishes.
Le Meridien marketing communications manager Clara Lim said the children were given a wish card each to write the items they would like to receive for Christmas.
“We started with 49 wish cards, which were collected by the public within two days.
“There were a lot of requests from the public and hotel guests to get more children involved, so we extended the project to children from other districts.”
She said the children at Desa Asrama Pukak stayed at the hostel during the weekdays and went home only during the weekends.
The children received footballs, sports shoes, watches, school bags, reference books, toy car, skateboard and guitar, among others.
