No more flood victims in Pahang: Civil Defence Force

KUANTAN: The floodwaters in Pahang have completely receded and the remaining three flood relief centres in Raub were closed today.

State Civil Defence Force director Colonel Zainal Yusoff said the 64 victims from 21 families began cleaning their homes since early morning and all the flood shelters were closed by 5pm.

He said the remaining victims were 18 people from Kuala Semantan mosque, Kampung Ulu Sungai mosque (42), and Kampung Batu Talam Umno Hall (four).

"The sunny sky and promising weather in Raub has allowed all flood victims, who were evacuated on Wednesday, to return home. There are no more flood victims in Pahang," he said.

At the height of the floods, eight districts were struck by the floods forcing some 8,000 people to be evacuated.
