New hospital on the cards for Bandar Baru Nilai

SEREMBAN: A new hospital will be built in Bandar Baru Nilai, near here soon, to cater to the growing population in the area.

Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, said the project, which has been approved by the Health Minsitry, will provide medical treatment to Nilai residents who are now seeking treatment at Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital (TJH) here.

"As it is, TJH is also accomodating a large number of patients and the construction of another hospital in Nilai will solve the congestion.

"The new hospital will be built near Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), and even the state government has proposed to the Health Ministry that the hospital will be managed by USIM, which has specialists in medicine.

"We hope the construction will be realised as soon as possible due to the urgent need for health services in Nilai due to the rapid development and increase in the number of residents," he said at a press conference after launching Negri Sembilan Women's Health Carnival 2018 in Bandar Sri Sendayan, here.

Also present were his wife, who is also Negri Sembilan Women's National Council (NCWO) president Datuk Raja Salbiah Tengku Nujumudin and Matrix Concept Sdn Bhd chairman, Datuk Mohamad Haslah Mohd Amin.

Meanwhile, Mohamad said Matrix Concept will build a private hospital with a capacity of 450 beds in Bandar Sri Sendayan.

"The hospital is fully funded by the private sector as part of the developer's effort to complete the medical facilities in the area," he said.
