Floods recede in Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Selangor, Sepang

KUALA LUMPUR: A temporary relief centre has been activated in the Petaling district following a heavy downpour this afternoon.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the MBSA Paya Jaras Tengah Hall in Kuala Selangor was activated at 9.15pm to take in evacuees, if the eventuality arises.

He said this is following flash floods in four districts, namely, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Selangor and Sepang.

Floodwaters have since receded in Gombak, Petaling and Sepang.

The areas affected by the afternoon downpour in Gombak were Jalan B27 near the Rawang Jusco, Kg Bahagia in Bukit Lagong, Rahmat Jaya Phase 4, and Kg Melayu Sungai Buloh.

The other areas were Kg Baru Sungai Buloh, Persiaran Surian, Jalan Kuala Selangor, Kg Paya Jaras Hilir, Jalan Tempinis in Puchong, Kg Kuala Sungai Baru, and IOI Puchong under Petaling district and Jalan B48 Tok Merong in Sepang.

Also affected were Taman Suria and Kg Hang Tuah in Bestari Jaya.

Kg Jaya Setia and Kg Sri Aman in Ijok are however still inundated by floodwaters.
