Sale of 4-in-1 durian instant coffee will not be halted

BALIK PULAU: The Health Ministry will not issue any seizure order on the sale of 4-in-1 durian flavoured instant coffee, which resulted in two Nepali men being hospitalised after consuming it.

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya told newsmen that, for now, the ministry would not issue the order.

He however advised people to abstain from consuming it until investigation was completed.

"Even though the sale will not be halted, I advise consumers to stop drinking it for now.

"This is because there are possibilities of foreign substance, like drugs, being inserted into the coffee packets by someone, perhaps the company's competitor, to affect the sales," he said during a press conference after officiating the state level Mobile Community Transformation Centre (CTC) programme here today.

Dr Hilmi said the ministry was awaiting the full report on the case before deciding on the next course of action.
