NIBONG TEBAL: “Next time (have to) wear a helmet.”
This was what one teacher at SMK Nibong Tebal told a security guard after an unidentified man threw several stones at the school.
The school is where M. Vasanthapiriya, the girl who committed suicide after being accused of stealing a teacher’s mobile phone, used to study, but it is not known whether the incident was linked to her death.
Though no one was injured, school authorities lodged a police report following the incident, and as the teacher drove her car out of the compound, she advised the security guard there to put on a motorcycle helmet in case such an incident were to happen again.
Checks found tight security at the school, with guards recording the registration numbers of vehicles going in and out, and the details of the drivers as well.
Vasanthapiriya died in the Seberang Jaya Hospital on Thursday , almost a week after she was found hanging in her room at home.
