BENTONG: The Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway and East Coast Highway Phase 1 (LPT1) concessions holder Anih Berhad is offering a 10 per cent discount on toll rate for all classes of vehicles in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
Its executive director, Datuk Nik Fauzi Nik Hussein, said the discount would be given on Feb 16 to enliven the celebration,
He said the company expected an increase of 60 per cent traffic from the evening of Feb 14 until Feb 17, from the 150,000 vehicles using the expressways on normal days with the people taking the opportunity of the long holiday to return to their home town.
"To ensure a smooth journey, Anih Berhad hopes motorists will follow the Travel Time Proposal (TTA) schedule to reduce vehicles converging at the same time during peak hours at the Gombak, Bentong and Karak Toll Plazas," he said.
Nik Fauzi said this in his speech, which was read out by Anih Berhad vice president Radzimah Mohd Radzi, at the Charity Visit Programme at Bentong Hospital, which was attended by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai , who is also Bentong Member of Parliament.
Based on the TTA, those planning to return to their village on Feb 15 in Pahang are advised to enter the Gombak Toll Plaza at 12 noon to 3 pm or 7 pm to 11 pm while those going to Kelantan and Terengganu, the suggested time is 6 am to 10 am or 5 pm to 8 pm. — BERNAMA
