Cops honest attitude earns kudos

TAMPIN: The honesty of a policeman attached to the district police headquarters here deserves to be praised.

This is after he returned a wallet containing RM1,800 back to the owner in Taman Bukit Melaka, here this afternoon.

Tampin district police chief Superintendent Hamazah Ab Razak said Mohd Fahmi Abd Kadir, a Constable had just filled up petrol at a station in Pulau Sebang when he suddenly found the wallet near the national anti-drug agency office.

"Upon opening the wallet, he noticed the money and an identification card inside. Based on the address on the identification card, he tried to locate the owner", he said.

Hamazah said the constable had sought the help of another policeman as well to help him find the address of 61-year-old Chong Sik Kim.

"About two hours later, Fahmi and the colleague finally managed to find the wallet owner and returned his wallet and the money to him," he said.

Hamazah said the Chong who was overjoyed that he had found back his wallet and money intact praised the policemen for their honesty and dedication.

"This attitude and honesty displayed by the policemen must be practiced and emulated by others," he said.
