Crowds swarm Expo Terengganu hours before official opening

KUALA NERUS: Well before its scheduled opening at 4pm, the Expo Terengganu venue in Gong Badak is already a sea of people who arrived by the busloads.

Reaching the venue as early as 8am, a horde of visitors made a beeline for stalls selling a wide variety of cottage industry products.

At noon, a long snaking queue had formed at the Chicken Cottage food trucks which were launched by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman yesterday.

Excited visitors were seen rapidly exchanging their RM10 vouchers for dishes offered by Chicken Cottage, as well as T-Kitchen.

The exposition, which will be officially opened by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi later today, will be a week-long extravaganza of shopping, learning and new experiences for people in the state.

Among today’s must-see main attractions are a motorcycle sprint test race and a hologram booth.

Expo Terengganu is the first mega exposition of its kind in the state, and many visitors are sure to be awed by the quality and variety of products on offer and exhibits on display.

Among the Expo’s main targets are schoolchildren, who will be exposed to quality education tools designed to motivate them to learn.
