MRCB raises RM33,900 for welfare organisation in conjunction with CNY

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) granted the wishes of underprivileged children of Ti-Ratana Welfare Society today.

Through its "The Joy of Springs Charity" programme in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, MRCB has raised RM33,900 from the programme and donated the funds to the Ti-Ratana Welfare Society.

The funds were raised from the sales of Chinese New Year festive goodies such as cookies, lanterns, and mandarin oranges at a bazaar on Jan 28, which was a success with the participation of about 200 families.

MRCB chief corporate officer Amarjit Chhina said the company holds such programme annually and will continue to do so, to help those in need, especially children.

"We want to help the underprivileged children especially with their education," he said after handing over the cheque to the Chief High Priest of Malaysia and founder of Ti-Ratana Welfare Society Venerable Datuk K. Sri Dhammaratana.

A total of 20 children from the organisation were also present at the ceremony.

The children also received toys and school items sponsored by MRCB.
