KUALA NERUS: Visitors to the ongoing Terengganu Expo in Gong Badak arrived early today in the hope of catching a glimpse of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Najib, who arrived in town last night, will be meeting Expo-goers at the Jualan Sentuhan Rakyat, which is expected to draw a big crowd with its offer of unbeatable deals on consumer items.
The prime minister began his day by breakfasting with Barisan Nasional assemblymen and State Umno Liaison committee members at the TH Hotel near the Gong Badak sports complex.
He will then proceed to the Jualan Sentuhan Rakyat tent to meet with traders, before being ushered to the main Terengganu Expo venue, where he will examine the Terengganu 144 success stories on display.
Najib will close the Expo tonight after delivering a speech to an expected crowd of 40,000 people.
The prime minister will cap his visit by attending the mass wedding of 111 couples.
The Terengganu Expo was launched on Feb 26 by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The exposition has been a runaway success, as the organisers’ target of 400,000 visitors was met yesterday.
