Sarawak BN leaders hail BN manifesto for GE14

KUCHING: The Barisan Nasional manifesto for the 14th General Election (GE14) is a set of comprehensive and inclusive pledges which address the needs and aspirations of people from various groups in the country.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof described the coalition’s manifesto for GE14, which contains more than 300 initiatives, as the “best and greatest” offered by BN in the country’s election history.

Fadillah, who is also Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu senior vice-president, said the manifesto reflected the commitment by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to empower and improve the lot of the people from all segments including rural folk in Sabah and Sarawak.

“For the longest time, people in Sabah and Sarawak have longed for the rights of the two states to be restored in accordance with the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

“And now, we are getting closer to achieving that as BN has pledged to realise the rights of both states under the MA63 through consensus in the election manifesto.

“The manifesto also outlined plans by BN to resolve issues plaguing every states. The manifesto also touches on the pulse of the people as BN pledges to continue taking care of the welfare of those in the public and private sector as well as pensioners,” said the incumbent Petra Jaya Member of Parliament in a statement.

He added that the manifesto, which outlined BN’s plan for the next five years, was also a reflection of Najib’s people’s first approach that has been adopted and upheld the past nine years since he assumed leadership of the country.

Fellow Sarawak BN leader, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said the manifesto was clear on the initiatives to be implemented by the ruling coalition to improve the quality of life of the rakyat.

“The manifesto is well accepted not only among party leaders but those at grassroots level.

“For a sustainable development agenda, I hope the people will continue supporting BN by awarding us a stronger mandate,” said Rohani, who is the PBB Women’s wing deputy chief and incumbent Batang Lupar MP.

The BN manifesto for GE14 outlined 14 highlights, which include efforts to empower and prosper Sabah and Sarawak.
