KUALA LUMPUR: The Global Movement of Moderates, a non-governmental organisation, has condemned the murder of a 35-year-old Palestinian imam who is a lecturer at a private university here this morning.
Its executive chairman and chief executive officer Datuk Dr Nasharudin Mat Isa said the shooting was a heinous crime that must be thoroughly investigated.
“The Global Movement of Moderates is deeply disturbed by the murder of Dr Fadi M. Albatsh and calls for the law enforcement agencies to investigate and determine the motive behind what looked like a carefully-planned murder,” he said.
Nasharudin said those who were responsible for the murder must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
On behalf of the movement’s members, he also conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the imam’s family.
