Najib perform prayers at Pekan mosque

PEKAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has joined 500 people for Maghrib, Hajat and Isyak prayers at Masjid Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Haj here tonight.

Clad in gray baju melayu and with songket, Najib and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor arrived at the mosque at 7.15pm.

Najib, who is also Pekan Umno chief and incumbent of the parliamentary seat, spent around 20 minutes performing the prayers.

The Hajat prayer was performed to seek Allah’s blessing on not only Najib - who is also Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman - but also the Pekan constituency.

After prayers, Najib sat with the rest of the congregation to listen to a ceramah by Ustaz Dr Mohd Farid Ravi Abdullah.

Later, Najib and the others performed the Isyak prayers at 8.30pm.

Also present were BN state seat candidates that fall within the Pekan parliamentary constituency: Datuk Seri Sh Mohmed Puzi Sh Ali (Peramu Jaya) Datuk Khairuddin Mahmud (Pulau Manis), Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Harun (Chini), and Datuk Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohd Arif (Bebar).
