4 Negri Ramadan stall operators issued warnings for not displaying price tags

Seremban: On the first day of the fasting month yesterday, four Ramadan bazaar stall operators were issued warnings for failing to display price tags.

“We carried out 66 inspections at Ramadan bazaars. Four traders were given written warnings for not displaying prices clearly,” state Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) director Ain Arjuna Aziz Zaman told the New Straits Times today.

“So far, we have not received any complaints about prices at the bazaars.

“Errant traders can be compounded under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011. Individuals face a fine not exceeding RM50,000 or two years’ imprisonment or both, and companies face a maximum fine of RM50,000 upon conviction.”

She said 30 enforcement officers and 30 price watch officers were deployed at the bazaars.

“We have deployed teams from our offices in Seremban, Port Dickson and Kuala Pilah. They will conduct daily checks until the end of Ramadan,” Ain said.
