Rosmah: No grudge against those who turned their back

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor said she bored no grudge against her former allies who have now turned their backs on her and husband, following Barisan Nasional’s defeat in the 14th General Election.

“It's normal in politics. When you're up, everybody adores us, but when you have a problem, it is expected. It is just part and parcel of life,” Rosmah told the Malay Mail in an exclusive interview at their house in Jalan Langgak Duta, yesterday.

Rosmah said that she was upbeat despite the series of long raids conducted by the police at some of their premises.

In the interview, she also stressed that her focus was now to protect her family and herself.

She hoped that the family’s troubles would be over soon.

Rosmah who was accompanied by a few aides and lawyers Datuk Geethan Ram Vincent and M. Puravalen, throughout the interview said she was looking forward to returning to a normal life soon.

“We are taking it quite well. I think we're quite relaxed, being a family of politicians. This is just one of those trials and tribulations, hazards of being in politics.

“It's another life, but I'm not complaining. I'm not asking for this kind of life, but it's a much more relaxed life when I can do my thing. When I feel like sleeping, I can sleep when I feel like waking up, I can wake up.

“But I would like this to be over as soon as possible, because we want to move on with our lives,” Rosmah said in the interview.

She also asked the police to treat to treat them with the courtesy which they are entitled to as Malaysians.

Rosmah said she is a strong believer in the phrase 'a person is innocent until proven guilty.

"Otherwise, we have to be treated like normal human beings. The right to dignity," she was quoted saying.
