Petronas Dagangan sponsor LPG cylinders for Masjid Jamek's signature Bubur Lambuk Agong

KUALA LUMPUR: In the spirit of giving, Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB) today contributed 200 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders and aprons worth RM20,000 to Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru.

The contribution was for the preparation of the mosque’s signature Bubur Lambuk Agong throughout Ramadan.

Petronas Downstream Marketing vice-president Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said the sponsorship was part of PDB’s annual commitment to the community for the past 16 years.

“PDB is pleased to once again sponsor the annual event by Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru. We will continue to contribute our part to this yearly affair and preserve this Ramadan tradition,” he said.

Throughout the month, the mosque prepares and distributes over 5,000 packs of bubur lambuk a day.

Syed Zainal Abidin said, besides the contribution, PDB also conducted safety checks on the cooking apparatus at the mosque.

“We also shared with the local community safety tips in handling LPG cylinders,” he said, adding that PDB also sponsors various bubur lambuk cooking events nationwide.

At the event, PDB also hosted a special buka puasa with the local community, including 40 underprivileged children from Rumah Pengasih Warga Prihatin and Rumah Titian Kaseh.

Adding some glamour to the event was celebrity Nur Fazura Sharifuddin.

Prior to the event, PDB volunteers had taken the children on a shopping spree for baju raya.

The volunteers also joined the local community in preparing the bubur lambuk.
