Tian Chua offers to bridge ties between state and Federal leaders

PENAMPANG: PKR vice-president Tian Chua has said he will help foster ties between the state and Federal leadership.

Tian Chua said he was positive and optimistic, with people embracing change; more development will come to Sabah.

“Sabah is full of potential. I wish good luck to the people and together with a government that is generally committed to the people’s welfare; we will lift up the standard of living and cultural diversity.

“I wish we’ll foster closer ties between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu. Whatever capacity I have, I would like to facilitate various cooperations to strengthen ties and hope the new Federal government will prioritise the development of Sabah,” he said.

He said this when met at the closing of the state-level Pesta Kaamatan at the Hongkod Koisaan or Kadazandusun and Murut Cultural Association Building.

Tian Chua arrived in Sabah yesterday for the first time since he was banned from entering the state by the previous government.

He thanked Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal who lifted the ban and expressed hope to visit the state more often.

“I haven’t been to Sabah for five years since the Lahad Datu intrusion and I am grateful to the Chief Minister,” he said.
