Decomposing body of Korean expat found in KK home

KOTA KINABALU: The stench from a room in a house at Batu 2 ½, Jalan Tuaran here led to the discovery of the decomposing body of a Korean man.

Moon Sok Jin, 46, was found dead in a sitting position, next to a closet and dressed only in a pair of pants by his maid at 8am yesterday.

The maid, who worked at the house once every fortnight, said Moon was well when she last saw him.

His wife and children, who live in the same house, left for a visit to South Korea two weeks ago.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner M Chandra said they received an emergency call on the discovery at 9.44am.

“(Our) initial investigation showed that there was no wound on the man’s body.

“(His remains were) sent to the Queen Elizabeth hospital for a post-mortem,” he said, adding that the case has been classified as “sudden death.”
