17-month-old toddler kidnapped by man who broke into house

MUAR: A 17-month-old toddler was taken by an individual who broke into the victim’s house in Kampung Parit Lanjut, Mukim Sungai Terap , early this morning.

Nur Aisyah Hasmizan was found missing by her mother Siti Noorfadilah Yusofe, 30, about 5 am when she was preparing ‘sahur’ for her eldest child.

“Before the incident, I was with Nur Aisyah in the room. I was watching television and I remember switching off the television about 3am before going to bed with her. At the time, my three other children, husband and mother had already gone to sleep.

“About 5 am, my mother woke up for sahur and noticed the back door was open but she did not suspect anything. At the time, I did not realised Nur Aisyah was not in her bed because I was preparing food for my eldest child.

“I only realised she was missing when I went back to the room. We tried looking for her around the house because she had just started walking but failed to find her,” said Siti Noorfadilah when met at her house.

She said upon checking they found that the person who broke into the house had also taken two handphones without touching other valuable items like handbags.

Siti Noorfadilah then lodge a report at the Bukit Pasir police station and also uploaded the incident on social media to seek help from the public in locating her daughter.

“Please return my daughter, I love her. I don’t know of anybody who is angry with me. Nur Aisyah is a good girl and I am worried whether she has eaten or not,” she said.

Muar police chief Assistant Commissioner Zaharudin Rasip confirmed that the police had received a report on the matter and investigation was underway.

A check by New Straits Times found that a lot of family and friends had gathered at the house to give their support to the family.

Meanwhile, several policemen were seen conducting checks at the perimeter of the house and the K-9 unit has also been engaged to find Nur Aisyah.
