Praising S'gor as biggest GDP contributor, Azmin clocks out as MB with message of thanks

SHAH ALAM: The people of Selangor will reap the benefit in the near future in line with the state being the biggest Gross Domestic Produce (GDP) contributor to the nation said Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

He said the people in the state by right should be receiving the appropriate returns based on the positive growth registered by the state’s economy, which leads other states, contributing 23 per cent to the nation’s GDP.

“I promise not forget the people of Selangor, as it is the most advanced state and the main contributor to the nation’s coffer.

“Such a success could not be achieved without the cooperation of all quarters. I wish to thank all those who assisted and worked with me while I held the post of Menteri Besar,” he said.

Azmin said this in his speech as he clocked out for the last time as the Selangor Menteri Besar, here this evening.

He was also confident that his successor would continue administering the state in an excellent manner.

On May 11, Azmin, who is also the Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyman was reappointed as the Selangor Menteri Besar, after Pakatan Harapan won the state in the 14th General Election.

However, Azmin who is also the Gombak member of Parliament had to let go of the post after he was appointed as the Economic Affairs Minister by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
