Parang wielding murder suspect was aggressive, says S'gor's top cop

SHAH ALAM: The man wanted for the murder of an Indonesian woman was armed with a parang and acted aggressively when a team of investigators showed up at a flat unit in Taman Bukit Subang to arrest him.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect, an Indonesian in his 20s, had attacked his men with a parang measuring 28cm.

"My men fired a shot in defence. The suspect died on the spot and the parang has been seized," he said.

He said the 5.30pm raid today was conducted by the Selangor police headquarter's Serious Crimes Division (D9) after receiving a tip-off.

The raid, he added, was linked to a murder case in Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya, on Monday where a 19-year-old Indonesian woman was brutally killed with eight stab wounds.

Hussein said a probe was on-going under Section 307 of the Penal Code.
