Najib's stepson to continue giving statement to MACC tomorrow morning

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s stepson Riza Aziz, was grilled for another six hours at the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here today.

The 48-year old movie producer, arrived at the graft busters headquarters about 3.05pm and left 9pm.

Sources said Riza had been summoned to the MACC office again at 10.30am tomorrow as the graft busters continue their investigation into the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

Riza, who was donned in a dark suit, was accompanied by his lawyer Datuk M Kumaraendran.

He was seen leaving the MACC office about 9pm in a black Audi but did not speak to reporters.

He was also present at the MACC office on Tuesday where he was questioned for about nine hours.

Riza, who is also co-founder of Los Angeles-based film production company Red Granite Pictures, has been linked to the 1MDB scandal where there have been allegations of him siphoning the fund’s monies to finance films.

The US Department of Justice (DoJ) had claimed that Riza’s company, which produced the Oscar-nominated ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, received money misappropriated from 1MDB.

Riza has denied the claim.

However, Red Granite in March this year agreed to pay US$60 million (RM234 million) to the US government to resolve allegations that it profited from corrupt money involving 1MDB, according to a report.
