Muhyiddin resting well after Thursday's surgery

KUALA LUMPUR: Home Affairs Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is currently recovering well and resting following a surgery.

In a statement on his Facebook page by his press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim, it was said Muhyiddin underwent surgery on Thursday and that it had gone well.

"On behalf of the family, we wish to thank everyone for your wishes and prayers," he said.

Commenting on the statement was Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman who said, "Please get well soon Tan Sri. My prayers will always be with you."

The Home Affairs Ministry had previously informed that Muhyiddin had undergone a successful operation to remove a growth on the pancreas which was detected at an early stage.

It informed that Muhyiddin would be on leave beginning July 12 for follow-up treatment.

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) president is expected to be back to work in a month, the statement said.
