SUNGAI SIPUT: Firemen helped save a cat stuck on a coconut tree at Jalan Karai Kampung Periang, here, last night.
Sungai Siput Fire and Rescue station's operations commander Suhaimi Ab Samad said they received a distress call on the situation at 11.03pm.
The cat that had gone up the 6-metre high tree was possibly too terrified to make the journey back down.
As soon as firemen arrived at the scene, they used a ladder to bring the poor cat to safety.
"The operation took a while as we had to bring down some coconuts that was blocking the way before we could save the cat who was sitting right at the top," Suhaimi said.
The cat's owner, Suhaimi informed, had said that the cat had been stuck up there for more than 15 hours.
The operation concluded at 12.58am.
