Johor babysitter filmed beating four infants; parents learn of abuse through viral videos

KUALA LUMPUR: Three harrowing videos showing a babysitter hitting her infant charges have been widely circulated on Facebook since Aug 2.

Taken by the babysitter’s friend, the videos have been shared over 41,000 times since Thursday.

According to China Press, the middle-aged woman is based in Kulai, Johor and offers her services for RM1,400.

At the time the videos were recorded, she was taking care of four babies at the same time.

One of the babies' mothers reportedly learned of the abuse through the viral videos themselves.

In an interview with Oriental Daily, the mother revealed that she had been employing the babysitter since her 10-month-old son was only three months old.

In one of the videos, her son is seen being slapped after he is believed to have spit out his food.

"Spit your head ah!" the babysitter yells at the baby, as she slaps him on his head and legs.

"(The babysitter) had always praised my son for being a good boy, hence I never expected her to (hit him)," the mother was quoted as saying by Sin Chew Daily.

It is understood that the baby’s parents will be lodging a police report against the babysitter for her actions soon.

According to the mother, the babysitter developed a bad temper after the death of her husband – but she still trusted her.

The mother said she hopes that her experience will serve as a warning to other parents in the area to not employ the woman.
