Former TV personality Ishak Nengah laid to rest

SUBANG JAYA: A sombre atmosphere filled the air at the Muslim cemetery in USJ22 this afternoon where television icon and former TV3 presenter Ishak Nengah was laid to rest.

Ishak, 65, passed away at 12.45pm today after battling with nose cancer, or nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) since 2011.

Family members, friends, and media practitioners were present to pay their last respects to the veteran journalist who was also a sought-after emcee.

When met, veteran newscaster Ras Adiba Radzi described Ishak’s passing as a huge loss to the media industry.

“We are still reeling over the death of Datuk Mahadzir Lokman, but now another legend has left us.

“Ishak was a kind-hearted man who never raised his voice when we worked together and was always ready to impart his knowledge on us fellow media practitioners.

“Ishak was always such a trooper. Despite his sickness, he was always a jovial person. It really is a big loss for us,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ishak’s wife Aisyah Ali and rapper son Joe Flizzow whose real name is Johan, declined to talk to the press.

Ishak was born in Bota Kanan, Perak, and once served as a journalist in NSTP from 1972 to 1977 before becoming a news presenter at TV3.

He is survived by his wife and three sons — Johan, 38, Ashraf, 36, and Iman, 28.
