Lawyer leaps to his death from Solaris Dutamas building

KUALA LUMPUR: Beset by financial problems, a lawyer is believed to have committed suicide by jumping off a building in Solaris Dutamas, Jalan Dutamas on Sunday morning.

The 45-year-old man leapt from the building’s ninth floor.

His body was found by a passer-by.

Sentul district police chief, Assistant Commissioner R Munusamy, said they were alerted to the incident at 10.18am.

Two policemen were deployed to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the deceased, fully clothed, with injuries to the head and body.

Police also found a handwritten note, with the words “Please call my son or my daughter” on him.

“Based on the note, investigating officers went to the house of the victim’s daughter. The victim lived next door to his daughter,” he said.

Munusamy said the woman told the police that her father had been having financial problems. She did not know when he left the house earlier in the morning.

She told the police that a day before the incident, her father told her “to assume that he was already dead.”

“The woman confirmed that the suicide note was penned in her father’s handwriting,” he said.
