KANGAR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today visited a resident whose home was badly damaged in a storm in Kampung Teritip, Kuala Perlis near here.
Accompanied by Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man, she spent about 20 minutes at the home of Ahmad Sugemey Halim, 35,.
The roof of his house was blown off in the incident on the night of Sept 17.
She then visited Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Perlis which also suffered damage in the incident before rushing off to Kompleks Jabatan Pertahanan Awam Perlis to attend a ceremony to hand over aid to the victims.
The storm left a trail of destruction in several areas in Perlis, A total of 160 reports were received on damaged homes alone.
Trees fell all over, causing road accidents which resulted in fatalities. - Bernama
