Man claims mother is one of the Kuala Kangsar accident victims

KUALA KANGSAR: A man has claimed that his mother was one of the victims of an accident which killed five individuals at KM255.3 northbound of the North-South Expressway after the Menora Tunnel, yesterday.

Tan Win Hen, 31, suspects that his mother, Lee Len Ying, 60, was in the Kia Forte involved in the accident, and that the car belongs to him.

“When I learned about the accident on social media, I called my mother’s mobile phone many times but failed.

“My mother and the other victims were on their way to a religious event at a church in Taiping. The church members had called me asking where my mother was, as other church members (participating in the activity) had already arrived,” he said when speaking to reporters at the Kuala Kangsar Hospital’s forensic department here today.

Several individuals believed to be family members of the victims were seen present at the hospital since 9 am today to conduct a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) tests to determine the victims’ identities. - Bernama
