Education Ministry never appoints agents to collect funds for Tamil schools

PUTRAJAYA: The Education Ministry has never appointed any organisation or person to help in raising funds to develop the Tamil vernacular schools (SJKT).

In this respect, the ministry urged school headmasters to communicate with it directly for any fund applications.

“School headmasters should also lodge police report if they are approached by anyone who claim they are agents for the ministry for the said purpose,” said the ministry in a statement today.

It said it had received complaints about those who used its name, logo and the national coat of arms to conduct scams and influence school headmasters into believing that they could assist in obtaining the fund from the ministry.

It said a police report had been lodged by the ministry’s official at the Putrajaya Police headquarters on Wednesday.
