Efforts to bring back Jho Low must be a government-to-government initiative

KUALA LUMPUR: Efforts to bring back the fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, from China should not be made based on personal capacity.

Rembau Member of Parliament Khairy Jamaluddin said such efforts should be made between two governments; Malaysia and China.

“It was an interesting statement from Hishammuddin (Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein) that he wanted to help to find Jho Low.But, should he has information on Jho Low (whereabouts), I hope he will furnish the information to the government.

“That is the best way to bring Jho Low back to help facilitate with the investigations. Furthermore, this matter involves cooperation between agencies in Malaysia and China, as well as in terms of legal collaboration,” he said when met at the Parliament lobby.

Khairy was asked to comment on Hishammuddin’s statement, who said that he would assist the government to track down Jho Low in China.

Hishammuddin has offered his help, based on his personal capacity, to bring home Jho Low to the country.

Meanwhile, Padang Rengas MP Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz has described Hishammuddin’s offer as a good move.

“It is good that he wanted to do that, to bring Jho Low back. Everyone is curious to know on his whereabouts. If he (Hishammuddin) has the opportunity to do so, it is good because we want to know the truth,” he said.
