PKR Keningau division election temporarily halted following fracas

KOTA KINABALU: The PKR Keningau division election has been temporarily halted following yesterday’s chaos involving party deputy presidential candidate Rafizi Ramli.

Sabah PKR election coordinator Rosli Masaliku said the PKR central election committee (JPP) would announce the status of Keningau division election in the near future.

“The election process for Keningau division has not completed. It is forced to stop for the time being.

“We are awaiting anouncement from JPP for its decision to resume the election process,” he told NSTP when contacted, today.

Yesterday, Rafizi lodged a police report claiming he was attacked while at the Keningau division polling centre in Kampung Merampong.

In the 4pm incident, Rafizi claimed he was hit in the head before he was whisked out of the election centre by his supporters.

As of yesterday, results at the 12 divisions throughout Sabah saw deputy president candidate Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali ahead of Rafizi by 342 majority votes after obtaining 5,113 votes as compared Rafizi’s 4,773 votes.
