Waytha Moorthy at Bukit Aman to give statement

KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department P. Waytha Moorthy arrived at Bukit Aman yesterday afternoon, to give his statement over remarks made following the riots at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple.

Sources said Waytha Moorthy arrived at the federal police headquarters at 5.30pm.

Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun was quoted as saying that Wayta Moorthy would be summoned to faciliatate police investigations.

Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin too said that the minister would be summoned by the police following his statement during the riots.

To date, 83 people had been detained to assist in investigation and of the total, 70 had been remanded in court. — BERNAMA
