KUALA TERENGGANU: Heavy rain since early today has triggered flash floods in parts of Hulu Terengganu and Dungun, and forced 149 people from their homes.
According to the Social Welfare Department’s flood information portal, four temporary relief centres (PPS) were opened to house the evacuees who are from 39 families.
The three relief centres in Hulu Terengganu are at Kampung Sekayu, Kampung Pelandan community hall, and Kampung Pengkalan Ajal.
One PPS is at the Surau Besol Lama in Dungun.
Meanwhile, the Terengganu Irrigation and Drainage Department reported that the level of Sungai Nerus in Kampung Langkap, Setiu is at 21.02 metres, exceeding its danger level of 21 metres.
