'There is truth in what Rafizi says': Johari

SUNGAI PETANI: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) led government must fulfil the 14th General Election (GE14) pledges to avoid further loss of confidence in the government.

Kedah PKR Chief, Datuk Johari Abdul, said the people are still worried, that there does not seem to be much changes having taken place in the country despite being administered by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the past seven months, following GE14.

"We promised a lot of things in the manifesto ... the people are watching, the people expected that today (after the Barisan Nasional falls) ... tomorrow the people will see their income increase.

"After seven months of this (promises being made) nothing has been seen yet ... as such they (the people) are disappointed. The people have the right to feel frustrated because there is not much changes taking place.

"We hope that the government would act as fast as possible. Do not wait ...it is true ...that we do not have the money but do not reveal it. When we buy a company and know that it is plagued with problems, when we takeover, we want to make changes, do not give excuses but do something," he told NSTP.

Johari was responding to remarks by former PKR Vice-President Rafizi Ramli that the Federal Government’s approval rating had taken a dent and is on the decline seven months after it took over the Federal Government.

The Sungai Petani Member of Parliament said frequent changes in the form

statements and actions from a couple of ministers had also given cause for the people to be disappointed.

"There is truth in what Rafizi says. If ordinary people took a look at me and surmised that there is something is not right ... there would definitely be disappointment.

“After this people would think ... if there is another election, it would not be certain that PH would win it.”

Johari also said the entry of several ex-Umno leaders into PH had also caused the people to be upset.

"Many who thieved in Umno are now joining Bersatu (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia). The people's assumption would be that those who ended committing thievery would be safe. We (PH) on the other hand accept them by throwing a celebration.

"How can we take pride with the entry of the people from Umno ? The people in turn feel cheated, the people rejected Umno so that they can be put in jail. Suddenly PH is throwing a victory celebration with a red carpet welcome. As such the people would be disappointed," he said.
