Para-athlete Ecah thanks Media Prima for helping her to walk tall again [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Life can hand you lemons like what happened to Siti Nuraisyah Sahrin, 16, who lost her two legs after a tragic accident with a lorry in 2016.

But this brave young woman managed to turn her life around and move forward again to achieve her dreams.

She even won gold in the Sukma Para Games in November last year.

Today, is another happy day for her when Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund handed over to Siti artificial limbs at the Teh Lin Prosthetics and Orthopaedic Centre in Ampang.

“I am grateful for this gift and I thank everyone for helping me.

“This will encourage me to strive harder to achieve my goals,” said Siti.

Siti or more fondly known as Ecah was accompanied by her parents Roslan Sardi and Maimunah Md Razalli.

Media Prima was represented by Mohd Farris Effendy and Mohd Nadzrein Johari from Corporate Communications.

The 16-year-old student of Sekolah Menengah Bagan Terap lost both of her legs in a horrible accident on January 18, 2016 after it was crushed by a lorry. Her tragic accident has caught the attention of the country.

Despite the tragedy, Ecah has persevered and pushed ahead into improving herself and proving that her disability is not an obstacle to achieve her dreams.

Ecah is also a para-athlete and have won gold in the powerlifting category in the Para Sukma Games 2018.

The Media Prima – NSTP Humanitarian Fund was established on 15 May 1991. It offers financial aid to Malaysians who are unable to afford treatment for heart problems, leukaemia, cancer or the fitting of prosthetic limbs.

Through the years the scope has been expanded to embrace other causes including assisting victims of poverty, disasters and political conflicts.
