SHAH ALAM: Semenyih assemblyman Bakhtiar Mohd Nor has passed away at Kajang Hospital at 4.45am this morning from a heart attack.

Borhan Aman Shah, the political secretary to Selangor Menteri Besar, said Bakhtiar’s remains would be brought to his family home in Batu 19, Jalan Sungai Lalang in Semenyih and a prayer would be performed after the Friday prayers at Kampung Pasir.

“He will be laid to rest after that at Kampung Pasir Muslim Cemetery.

“My condolences to the family, may Allah bless his soul and put him among the righteous. Al-Fatihah,” he said.

Bakhtiar, 57, was a member of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and he became the Semenyih assemblyman eight months ago after defeating incumbent Datuk Johan Abd Aziz from Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 14th General Election (GE14) last May with 23,428 of the votes.
