Boy injured in alleged beating by teacher runs away from Sg Buloh tahfiz

SUNGAI BULOH: A 12-year-old boy suffered injuries to his back and thigh in an alleged caning by a teacher at a tahfiz school here, on Monday.

The incident led the boy to run away from the institution, accompanied by a 13-year-old schoolmate.

According to the boy’s mother, her son and his friend sought her out at her place of work in Cheras.

“The boy immediately confided in his mother that he had run away from the tahfiz out of fear of the teacher, who had beaten him with a cane.

“He showed his mother bruises on his back and thigh received as a result of the caning.

“The 13-year-old boy also claimed to have been beaten by the same teacher,” a police source told NSTP.

It is learnt that the 50-year-old mother rushed her son to the Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital (HCTM) for treatment.

The boy lodged a report on the incident at the HCTM police beat base on the same day.

“The case has been referred to the Sungai Buloh police headquarters for an investigation.

“The boy and the teacher will be called in to have their statements recorded for further action,” the source added.
