Questions raised as image of state dep't vehicle with PH logo goes viral

LIPIS: The Pahang state government has re-taken possession of a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle which was earlier loaned to the federal government for use in the Cameron Highlands by-election campaign.

The state department was earlier instructed to loan the 4WD vehicle to a federal government ministry to ferry its deputy minister during official duties throughout the campaign period.

State secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak said he had instructed the vehicle to be returned to the department after a political party logo was seen pasted on it.

"The department (under the state agency) was allowed to lend the vehicle to the ministry for official use, which involved its deputy minister.

“However, when a party logo was pasted on the vehicle, I instructed the vehicle to be immediately returned," he said in a Facebook post earlier today.

Sallehuddin said netizens have been asking him why the vehicle, owned by the state government, was being utilised for the by-election campaign and pasted with a party logo.

Images of a 4WD vehicle owned by the Raub district Forestry Department with a Pakatan Harapan flag pasted on its door have gone viral on social media, prompting many to raise questions about abuse of power.

NSTP is in the midst of eliciting comments from PH leaders on the 4WD vehicle.
