Two girls still missing after looking for father in Golok

KOTA BHARU: Two sisters, aged nine and 12, who disappeared from home three days ago to search for their father in Sungai Golok in Thailand, are still missing.

The children, Nur Fatihah Najwa Seman, 12, dan Siti Nur Insyirah, 9, never reached the home of their father, Seman Omar, 37, in Tanjung Mas, Sungai Golok.

Their mother, Nazimah Abdullah, 33, said her daughters left their home in Kampung Machang Limbat, Pasir Tumboh, around 4pm on Sunday.

“I am in the process of separating from my husband and we have not lived under the same roof for awhile. The girls went to look for their father.

“I rang my husband at 7am (Tuesday) and he told me that our daughters never made it to Golok.

“This is very worrying as they are just children and do not know anything. If anyone sees them, please bring them to the nearest police station or even my house,” she said when contacted.

Nazimah, who is a restaurant worker, said their daughters had earlier this year followed their father to Golok, which led her to believe that they may have gone looking for him there.

She said the girls only had between RM30 and RM40 between them, taken from their piggy bank, which was not enough to take care of their needs.

“I am praying for them to be found soon. I do not want anything bad to happen to them. A police report has been lodged yesterday; I hope they are found soon.

Meanwhile, Kelantan police chief, Datuk Hasanuddin Hasan, said they have recorded a statement from the girls’ mother.

“We are investigating the case further. We want to ensure that the girls are safe and returned home,” he said.

The girls’ mother’s Facebook posting on her daughters’ disappearance had gone viral.

Nazimah was previously quoted as saying that this was the second time in two weeks the girls had gone missing from their home. In the first incident, they were found by neighbours and brought home.
