Nasharudin submits financial statements to MACC [NSTTV]

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Dr Nasharudin Mat Isa today submitted relevant documents to assist the graft busters in the probe over allegations that several Pas leaders had received RM90 million from the 1Malaysia Development Bhd. (1MDB)

The former Pas deputy president spent more than three hours at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters giving his statement to the graft busters.

Nasharudin arrived at the MACC headquarters about 8.40am.

“I have submitted all documents. I want to thank the MACC for allowing me to give my explanation and submit the proof.

“Among the documents I have handed over are financial statements of my (bank) account and the foundation (Global Movement of Moderates Foundation).

“For those who claim that they have proof, they should come forward and submit the evidence,” he told reporters, adding that he was very satisfied with MACC and the meeting he had with the graft busters.

To a question, Nasharudin said the MACC had asked him, among others, the source of funding received.

“They asked me what was the source (of funding) and I answered.

“They asked me how the money was withdrawn, which I also answered. I answered all questions,” he said.

Nasharudin said all persons interested in the investigation should give their full cooperation to the graft busters.

“On the RM90 million allegation, let the MACC investigate and make its statement,” he said.

In 2017,it was reported that Nasharudin had allegedly received funds from SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former 1MDB subsidiary.

The former Pas deputy president, however, had denied the allegation, calling it “baseless” and “irrelevant.”

He added the statements against him were also “a gross defamation” to both him and Pas.

Aside from Nasharudin, several other former and current Pas leaders including Amanah vice-president Datuk Husam Musa and Pas central committee member Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz were expected to give their statements to the MACC regarding allegation that the party had received money from 1MDB.

Nik Abduh was reported to have gone to the MACC office in Kelantan to have his statement recorded.

There was no sight of Husam at the MACC headquarters here at press time.
