Police still investigating Nik Abduh's alleged ties with CIA

SHAH ALAM: Police are still investigating allegations that Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz has ties with the United States' Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the police could not comment further on the allegation made against the PAS central committee members as investigation is still in its early stage.

"This is still in the early stage of investigation," he said at a press conference after attending the Selangor police contingent level investiture ceremony of the Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara medal held at Dewan IPK Utama, here, today.

Previously, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Youth wing urged police to investigate Nik Mohamad Abduh for allegedly having close ties with the CIA.

This follows confirmation from PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan that a leaked audio recording on PAS accepting millions of dollars from Umno was Nik Mohamad Abduh's voice.

He was heard saying in the audio recording, among others: "I can speak to the CIA. I know someone in the American CIA, who is always in touch with me."
