PUTRAJAYA: Hot air balloons in the shape of clown, octopus, robot and elephant are among the highlights of the 10th Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta which will take place from March 28 to 31.

Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president Datuk Dr Aminuddin Hassim said during the festival, more than 20 balloons will be controlled and flown by international engineers from 14 countries.

He said the fiesta would not only promote Putrajaya as an administrative capital, but also a holiday destination.

“This is the first time I will be taking part in this fiesta and I’m definitely excited. I welcome people from all walks of life to come together and visit the fiesta with their families.

“Visitors will enjoy seeing numerous hot air balloons decorated with so many patterns and colours, and at the same time, they will also enjoy the beauty of Putrajaya,” he said.

Among the countries expected to take part in the event are Spain, Slovakia, Brazil, Australia, Japan, Belgium, United States, United Kingdom, South Korea and Taiwan.

Another attraction made available at the fiesta is an igloo-shaped balloon, created using recyclable material such as used hot air balloon.

The igloo-shaped balloon will be placed at the Red Zone from 7pm to 10pm.
