NZ terror attack: Tarmizi is stable, says sister

ALOR SETAR: The condition of Malaysian Mohd Tarmizi Shuib who was shot in the Christchurch terror attack yesterday is reported to be stable.

The 42-year-old was expected to undergo an operation to remove a bullet this morning.

His sister, Zarina Shuib, 53, said she was told by Mohd Tarmizi's wife Marina Hamzah informed that her brother was still being treated at a hospital in Christchurch, New Zealand.

"Marina said my brother could have sustained a gunshot wound to the head or back as he was praying (sujud) when the attack happened.

"He is still alive and his condition is stable, as informed by his wife who contacted me via WhatsApp," Zarina said.

Zarina added that Tarmizi's son Mohd Haziq, 17, was yet to be found after running away during the attack.
