PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia condemns in the strongest terms the escalation of violence and excessive use of force by Israel in Gaza that has killed four young Palestinians.
Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said in a statement today: "We stand firm in our support for the Palestinian people who continue to be oppressed and dispossessed of their homeland by the Tel Aviv regime.
"We reiterate that the Palestinians were acting within their rights in staging the Great March of Return rally held on March 30."
Israel's use of deadly force to disperse the rally, using live rounds, rubber bullet and tear gas on the Palestinian protesters, Azmin said was "utterly contemptible" and proved yet again its complete disregard for international law.
