Sepang bus tragedy: Another victim dies

PUTRAJAYA: Another victim of the deadly Sepang bus crash died at the Putrajaya Hospital earlier, bringing the death toll to 12.

The Indonesian was pronounced dead at 4.30pm, said Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) district police chief assistant commissioner Zulkifli Adamshah in a statement.

The police have confirmed the deaths of four Indonesian women, two Nepali men, five Bangladeshi men and one local man (bus driver), he added.

The accident took place at 11.10pm last night near the MAS Cargo Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) along Jalan S8 Pekeliling in Sepang.

The bus was ferrying contract workers to the MAS Cargo Complex from their hostel in Nilai, Negri Sembilan, when the driver was said to have lost control of the vehicle.

The bus then skidded and crashed into a 10-metre-deep storm drain.
